Education Programs

Winter and Spring 2009: During the winter and spring months, Roseway operates in the U.S. Virgin Islands providing the platform for a curriculum integrated junior-high program serving students from St. Croix's public schools. The program offers sail training each weekday aboard Roseway. Each one week sailing class serves between 20 and 30 students and ties the historic sailing experience to math, science, english, and social studies.

The World Ocean School also welcomes school groups and youth organizations on board either for dockside interpretations or sailing expeditions during the school day. Our programs can include maritime and natural history of the area, sail training, team building, and ethical decision-making. We can accommodate up to 75 students and staff. Please contact us for more information. We welcome you aboard!

Summer 2009: This year's Summer Ambassador Program will be open to high school students from all over the world. They will live aboard Roseway for three weeks of lessons in sail training, public speaking, ethical awareness, team building, and leadership--all as ambassadors of their homes. They will participate in activities with local youth groups and carry out community service projects. Applications will be available here in January.

Roseway is also open during the summer for field trips and day sails--serving youth organizations, camps, and summer schools. Please contact us for details.
